Financial Systems Analyst

Overview

Reporting to the Management Accountant, the Financial System Analyst will be the expert user of the financial systems and liaise between the Finance team and the IT Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Expert User: Lead on systems training, establishing best practices and ensuring that these are delivered across the business
  • Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of group Key Performance Indicators and Measures, statistics, and reports
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: support finance team with ad hoc projects, including pulling specialist reports via Tableau Software and SAP B1 Hana
  • Reviewing and maintaining the financial system’s policies and procedures
  • Reviewing systems performance and identifying system issues. Ensure all systems and processes with a financial implication are integrated seamlessly
  • Managing financial system upgrades with the IT department. Working with the IT team to design delivery schedules of systems development
  • Training and supporting finance team members in the use of financial systems and procedures
  • Process improvement and delivering efficiencies through system enhancements
  • Designing and implementing internal system controls (preventative and detective) to provide quality assurance over financial data
  • Collaborating with IT and financial staff to meet business requirements
  • Ensure system permissions are in line with delegated authorities and approval limited and to ensure the segregation of duties
  • Troubleshooting and fixing finance-related system issues
  • Working with the IT team to design delivery schedules of systems development..
  • Assist with the preparation of the Budgetary Process, through the generation and analysis of budget data and information.

Skills:

  •  Professional Financial Degree with a strong systems background; AIS/ACCA/CIMA Qualified preferred
  • Must have implemented new software and delivered systems upgrades
  • Experience with SAP Business One SQL or HANA and major ecommerce like Magento or Woo Commerce
  • SME business exposure
  • Must be comfortable in a hands-on role
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in Systems development and finance systems
  • Degree in commerce/business/accounting
  • Experience working in project and BAU environments
  • Good analytical skills – A lot of testing and working with large volumes of data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and train other finance staff
  • Ability to deal with a demanding workload which will include conflicting demands on time
